EVkids Youth Council
An important way to ensure that our work reflects our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is to center the voices and lived experiences of our students and campers. This is one reason why we established a Youth Council, composed of high school and college student leaders who are participants in our programs, to help us better serve the needs of underserved youth in Boston.
These student leaders are passionate about fostering a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all program participants by collaborating closely with EVkids staff and Board members. Youth Council members provide input on strategic planning and DEI initiatives, participate in the annual Board Retreat, and organize various events for EVkids students, including career panels, college exploration activities, and social events for College Success students in high school and college.
